Willows League decide not to include us (23rd November 2007)
It is with regret that we have to inform that our application to enter the Willows League next summer has at this stage been rejected. We are yet to receive formal notification of this but we have been in e-mail conversation with the Willows League committee regarding the matter.
No firm reasons have been given for this decision apart from the fact that the league does not currently number more than 12. We intend to formally reply to their decision and will notify you of our formal response when it is collated. This will be sent in time for consideration of the next Willows League committee meeting which is next February.
However, with this decision in mind we are starting to consider next seasons fixture list with a view to making it more varied than ever before and we have a number of new team contacts (courtesy of the willows league), some interested teams we could not fit in last year, and invitation to partake in Llantwit Fardre Cricket clubs centenary celebrations and the proposal of a pre season tour (more details at a later date). So we are still looking forward to further improving things next season.
Important - Constitutional issue (1st October 2007)
Following on from discussions with team members the commitee have called a vote on a proposal to enter the Willows League structure to play competitive midweek cricket from next season.
In the 1st season (this coming season) we would be entered on a "probationary" basis (if successful) and would therefore only be entered into the cup and plate competition (and not the league competition). If the leagues committee adjudge us to have completed the games to a satisfactory level during our first season we would then be allowed "full" status and entered into the league as well as the cup and shield or plate for the following season.
The committee of course need to gauge members opinion on the matter and the club secretary has contacted you for your simple response of yes or no to this proposal, with any comments you feel you would like to make.
All votes and responses need to be returned to Gareth Ball (Secretary) by the 5th October (this Friday) at the latest as we need to submit our application to the Willows league (if appropriate) soon after that. Please take the time to consider this issue and respond to Gareth as instructed, it is the future of your club being voted upon!

Glenwood Game A Washout (Posted 20th July 2007)
Unfortunately the horrendous weather that has blighted this summer continued yesterday evening. Despite it being fine all day the gods decided it should rain heavily just before we were about to start and continue to do so for most of the evening. Of eleven scheduled fixtures so far this season we have managed to complete 3 as we struggle with the weather to make this season worthwhile. The commitee are trying to arrange an additional game 21st, 22nd or 23rd August but so far have no takers.
